Role of former staff of IT firm under scanner
Role of outsourced staff and former employees of IT firm hired for conducting online examinations of sub-inspectors (S-I) recruitment are under scanner in connection with its question paper leak.
The UP Special Task Force (STF) has made a list of such people and scanning their credentials to trace the mastermind behind the question paper leak.
The UP Police Recruitment and Promotion Board, on July 24, had postponed the recruitment test for S-I posts scheduled on July 25 and 26 in 22 districts across the state. The examination was cancelled after the copies of question paper became viral on social media. Around 1.20 lakh candidates were to appear in the online test. The UP STF’s cyber cell is probing the matter since then.
ASP STF, Triveni Singh said the STF is probing multiple angles. He said so far probe had confirmed some cyber expert, who was well aware about the IT firm’s functioning, is behind hacking its server and leaking the questing papers. “Probing on these lines, the role of outsourced staff and former employees of the IT firm is being first scanned,” he added.
Earlier, the IT firm authorities had lodged the FIR related to question paper leak under sections 2/5 of Examination Act and 66 Information Technology Act at cyber police station of the STF on Tuesday.
