Provide more facilities to patients: CM to PGI

Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday directed the Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS) to provide more facilities to patients.

The chief minister, who inspected various facilities at the premier institute, also asked its director professor Rakesh Kapoor to stress more on research work to find the cure of complicate­d diseases.

The chief minister also visited the isolation ward where the SGPGI has placed 12 beds for patients of swine flu.

The chief minister was all praise for the efforts of director PGI towards patients of swine flu.

The chief minister also visited the transplant unit, critical care medicine unit , and OPD building. Kapoor claimed that the chief minister visited PGI on his personal invitation.

According to the press statement from chief minister’s office, Adityanath directed the doctors of institute not to prescribe unnecessar­y tests and medicine to patients as everyone doesn’t have money to purchase expensive medicines or undergo expensive tests.

The chief minister praised the swine flu ward set up by the PGI. He asked them to do research to control such diseases so that they can be controlled before turning into epidemic. Kapoor also asked the chief minister to grace the convocatio­n programme on August 16 to which chief minister has given his nod .
