Three criminals arrested, stolen goods recovered

The Gomti Nagar police arrested three wanted criminals on Monday and recovered three cars, a motorcycle, a revolver and a country-made gun along with other stolen goods.

Those arrested have been identified as Mohammad Imran (who was using a Hindu name Honey Nishad), a native of Delhi. In the state capital he was living in Tikrohi, Indira Nagar.

The other two arrested miscreants have been identified as Surendra Chauhan, a native of Sitapur district and Manoj Kumar Maurya, a resident of Fazalganj, Kanpur. All of them carried a reward of Rs 5,000 each.

According to reports, on Monday at around 1.30pm, cops arrested them from near Eldeco Green, Gomti Nagar, after getting a tip-off from informers.

It may be pointed out that the Lucknow police have launched a drive against wanted criminals.

“For the past few months, all of them were on the police radar. We were collecting informatio­n about their whereabout­s. They are not from Lucknow but were actively involved in crime here,” said Deepak Kumar, SSP Lucknow.

“During interrogat­ion we came to known about the large quantity of goods they had stolen , including three cars and a motorcycle,” said Kumar.

The three car recovered from the miscreants are a Swift Dzire, a Polo and a Santro.

Cops also recovered a microwave oven, a video camera, three gold rings and four silver coins, apart from a Pulsar motorcycle.

Vishwajeet Singh, station house officer, Gomti Nagar, informed that for the past several months reports of burglary and cars being stolen had become regular . The trio was held after sustained surveillan­ce and close watch , he added.

On the basis of informatio­n provided by the miscreants, cops are trying to work out other cases of robbery. All the three have been sent to jail after being produced in court.
