SWINE FLU CLAIMS 2 MORE LIVES IN UP

LUCKNOW: Swine flu claimed two more lives in UP on Tuesday. The deaths were reported from Lucknow and Gorakhpur districts. Sixteen fresh cases, including that of a one-year-old child from Saadatganj, were also reported in the city, taking the total number of cases to 151 here. Worried about the spread of swine flu in schools, the office of CMO, Lucknow issued a list of schools where students tested positive for swine flu in the past one week to the DIoS and asked to run awareness campaigns.

LUCKNOW: Swine flu claimed two more lives in UP on Tuesday. The two deaths were reported from Lucknow and Gorakhpur districts.

Sixteen fresh cases, including that of a one-year-old child from Saadatganj, were also reported in the city, taking the total number of cases to 151 here.

The number of swine flu cases in the state went up to 335 with 38 fresh cases during the day. Districts that reported swine flu cases apart for Lucknow included Ambedkarna­gar, Kushinagar, Gonda, Bahraich, Meerut and Rae Bareli.

One patient also tested positive for dengue in Lucknow taking the total number of cases to 33 this season.

Worried about the spread of swine flu in schools, the office of CMO, Lucknow issued a list of schools where students tested positive for swine flu in the past one week to the DIoS and asked to run awareness campaigns.

Experts visited 15 schools and discussed with students the dos and don’ts to control mosquito breeding.

The areas that have had majority cases are KGMU, PGI campus and the localities nearby. Cases also came from Hazratganj, Kanpur Road, Rajni Khand (Sharda Nagar), Alambagh, Indira Nagar, Rae Bareli Road, Triveni Nagar, City Station, Balaganj, Bazarkhala, Rajajipura­m, Aishbagh, Mawaiya, Mahanagar and Aliganj.
