SWINE FLU: GOVT SOUNDS ALARM

On a day when one more patient died of swine flu taking the toll to seven in the state capital, the Uttar Pradesh government directed divisional commission­ers, district magistrate­s and chief medical officers to intensify efforts to prevent spread of the disease. Forty-one more cases were reported from Lucknow alone on Monday. In Kanpur, where five deaths were reported in the last few days, the district administra­tion has directed the discontinu­ation of morning assembly in schools.

LUCKNOW: A 26-year-old women, a resident of Nigohan area, who was undergoing treatment at KGMU for swine flu, died on Monday at the hospital. With this, the number of deaths due to swine flu rose to 7 in the state capital.

According to the chief medical officer (CMO), 41 more cases of swine flu were reported from various parts of the city on Monday.

Till now, maximum cases of swine flu have been reported from Rae Bareli road area that is 89.

It is followed by Chowk at 62, Aliganj at 53, LDA colony at 43, Alambagh at 43, Gomti Nagar at 31, Indira Nagar at 25, Aminabad at 15, Rajajipura­m at 13, Charbagh at 7, Hazratganj at 5 and Gosaiganj at 5.

Besides this, 25 more cases were reported from other parts of the city. Many swine flu patients were also treated at private hospitals which are not in the record.
