Some terai districts in the state are in the grip of floods at the moment.

Uttar Pradesh director general of police (DGP) Sulkhan Singh also acknowledged the dedication of the policemen and announced a reward for them.
In his tweet, the DGP said he saluted the devotion of the policemen.
Inspector of Baundi police station Jitendra Pratap Singh said all the 23 police personnel, including six women police constables, were present during the flag hoisting. He said they performed their drill before singing the national anthem.
Singh said though the police station was located at a safe distance but this time flood water had entered its premises too.
Similarly, inspector of Mohammedpur Khala police station Nagendra Chaubey and his team relentlessly toured the flooded villages on I-Day to ensure nobody was trapped in their houses.
It was an important day and I decided to go the extra mile to help people in their misery, he said.
Chaubey said nearly 15 villages of the area are flood affected and water had entered into many houses.
“Although relief teams are operational in the areas but they could not possibly reach out everywhere. So we decided to carry out patrolling during the day time and ensure all villagers are safe,” he said and added, “We covered over 10-15 kilometres on foot where the water level was low while used a boat to reach villages where water level was high.”
