LUCKNOW: As many as 121 fresh cases of swine flu were recorded in the state capital during the past 24 hours, taking the tally up to 534.

On Wednesday, 10 notices were issued to various establishments where health teams found conditions conducive for mosquito breeding.

Doctors said there were chances of spread of dengue due to intervals in rains hence people should take precaution against mosquito bites.

“Mosquito breeding should not be allowed anywhere – neither in homes nor in the neighbourhood, as the coming weeks are crucial. People need to take precaution till at least November,” said Dr Sandeep Kapoor, director, Healthcity Trauma Centre and Superspeciality Hospital.

So far, over a dozen doctors from KGMU and other medical institutes and over two dozen children have tested positive for swine flu.

“Patients and their families need to follow instructions and preventive measures suggested by doctors,” said Dr Vaibhav Khanna.

Government hospitals have been provided with the facility to take samples from suspected patients and the test facility is available for free. Patients in need of swine flu test may visit the government hospitals.

Doctors said people should try to keep immunity levels high so that swine flu does not attack the body. Having balanced diet is one way to keep the immunity high, they advise.
