The deceased included a 45-year-old woman of Banthra who was suffering from severe cold and fever for the past few days. She was admitted to hospital for treatment. The other person who died was a 48-year-old man. They both died a day ago but the information was received by the office of the chief medical officer of Lucknow on Thursday.

Meanwhile, a suspected dengue patient also died during treatment. Initially, majority of the cases came from near PGI and KGMU but now cases have come from almost every locality of the city including Aliganj, Chowk, Rae Bareli road, South City, Sarojini Nagar, and Banthra.

The decision to get all the medical staff of hospitals vaccinated against swine flu is yet to cover all. At some hospitals, the vaccines have arrived but the number is not sufficient to get all vaccinated. The education department will run a campaign to ensure that all schools put morning assemblies on hold to prevent spread of swine flu.
