LDA razes three illegal shops, seals as many
LUCKNOW: Continuing its drive against illegal constructions in the state capital, the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) demolished three shops illegally constructed in Aliganj on Friday. The shops were razed in sector A, Palika Bazar, Kapoorthala, Aliganj. Executive engineer, LDA, PC Pandey led the drive.
The LDA officials said the three shops were illegally constructed over a parking lot in gross violation of building norms.
The development authority also sealed three illegal liquor shops in sector 6, Jankipuram Extension. A heavy police force also accompanied the officials during the drive.
All across the city, buildings have come up in gross violation of norms and in connivance with the LDA officials.
After change of guard in the state, the development authority is under pressure from the new dispensation to act against violators.
After chief minister Yogi Adityanath assumed office on March 19, the LDA launched a drive against illegal constructions.
Till date, the development authority has sealed and demolished several illegal structures.
The development authority has also empowered all its zonal executive engineers to seal illegal buildings.
In a bid to make its drive more effective, the development authority has re-introduced its age old zonal system of identifying illegal structures.
Earlier, only two persons were heading enforcement wing of the development authorityTrans Gomti and cis-Gomti.
