Daksh bags a golden double in diving

Hosts Lucknow men dominated the diving events of the 60th Senior State Aquatic Championship, winning five medals, including all three gold medals, at the KD Singh ‘Babu’ Stadium pool here on Friday.

Young Daksh Bajpai had two gold medals, emerging top in three metre spring board and one metre spring board. The third one went to Shubham Mishra, who excelled in high board.

Girl cagers of Carmel College and LPC Rajajipuram stormed into the final of the Lucknow Basketball League-2017, notching up contrasting wins here on Friday. Carmel College defeated hosts Viday Tree Modern World College 40-4, whereas LPC defeated LPC Sahara Estates 10-2 in other semi-final.

As expected Carmel girls dominated the proceedings from the very beginning and were leading by 24-4 at the half time. Akansha top scored with 14 points, whereas Ananya made eight points. For losers, Urvi (4) scored all points. In the only semi-final in the boys section, RLB Sarvodya Nagar defeated St Fidelis College 48-38 in a thriller. Winners had 18-9 lead at the break. Rohit (29) and Ravi (8) excelled for the winners.

CHATURVEDI SOCCER

Montfort Inter College ‘A’ scored an emphatic 7-0 win against Ramadheen Singh Inter College in a league match of the 16th Avinash Chaturvedi Inter School Football Tournament, at the Chowk Stadium here on Friday. Umar scored brace, whereas Saksham, Abhishek, Atulya, Rhytham and Suryansh shared five goals between them.
