400 paddlers for school c’ship

Over 450 paddlers from all parts of the state would be seen in action during the third 11Sports Inter-School Table Tennis State Championships, beginning Tuesday, at the HRIT Group of Institute, Meerut Road, in Ghaziabad. The team events include four different categories, including two for the girls. Same will remain the scene in the individual category too.

TENNIS LEAGUE

Satakshi Tewari and Huran Soni bagged under-12 girls and boys singles titles, respectively at the Little Champs Tennis League here on Monday. Satakshi beat Pranjali Prajapati 6-0, whereas Huran beat Aditya Dhar Dwivedi 6-1.

ASISC FOOTBALL

CMS Aliganj celebrated a golden double in the ASISC Zone A Football Tournament, winning both junior and senior boys titles, at the Spring Dale College ground here on Monday. In juniors final, they defeated St Fedelis with Aman Yadav scoring the solitary goal. In the seniors final, they had a convincing 4-0 win against LPC Sahara Estates. Harshit struck a brace, whereas Ayush and Naveen shared two goals between them.

FINE SHOW

Sports Authority of India Lucknow girls staged a fine show at the All-India Inter-SAI Juniors Handball Tournament, defeating hosts SAI Gandhi Nagar 14-10. Earlier, they defeated SAI Banguluru 17-6 and SAI Chandigarh 17-12.
