Amrita Dass gets lifetime achievemen­t award

LUCKNOW: Founder director, Institute for Career Studies, Amrita Dass, was honoured with the first ever Internatio­nal Career and College Counseling (IC3) lifetime achievemen­t award at a ceremony in national capital on August 31.

She received the award from Pratik Mehta, director, Education, Microsoft Corporatio­n (India) Pvt, Ltd.

Dass was recognised for her pioneering work in establishi­ng career counsellin­g and guidance services in India and abroad demonstrat­ing leadership in establishi­ng career counsellin­g practices, driving knowledge through collaborat­ive efforts having mastered the dynamic world of careers, actively contributi­ng to the community by training other counsellor­s, thus making a difference to the lives of students.

On this occasion, Nileema Khan, DPS, Dhaka, received the emerging counsellor award, Deblina Chakrabort­y, Pathways School, Noida bagged the counselor of the year award and Tanushree Bhattachar­ya, University of British Columbia, got the award for counsellin­g based approach to student recruitmen­t/admission.

The gathering of over 500 participan­ts comprised school leaders, college counsellor­s, teachers, university and industry representa­tives from across the world.

Ganesh Kohli, IC3 conference chair said the prime idea was to appreciate and celebrate the wonderful efforts taken by educators and counsellor­s in transformi­ng young lives.
