Amrita Dass gets lifetime achievement award
LUCKNOW: Founder director, Institute for Career Studies, Amrita Dass, was honoured with the first ever International Career and College Counseling (IC3) lifetime achievement award at a ceremony in national capital on August 31.
She received the award from Pratik Mehta, director, Education, Microsoft Corporation (India) Pvt, Ltd.
Dass was recognised for her pioneering work in establishing career counselling and guidance services in India and abroad demonstrating leadership in establishing career counselling practices, driving knowledge through collaborative efforts having mastered the dynamic world of careers, actively contributing to the community by training other counsellors, thus making a difference to the lives of students.
On this occasion, Nileema Khan, DPS, Dhaka, received the emerging counsellor award, Deblina Chakraborty, Pathways School, Noida bagged the counselor of the year award and Tanushree Bhattacharya, University of British Columbia, got the award for counselling based approach to student recruitment/admission.
The gathering of over 500 participants comprised school leaders, college counsellors, teachers, university and industry representatives from across the world.
Ganesh Kohli, IC3 conference chair said the prime idea was to appreciate and celebrate the wonderful efforts taken by educators and counsellors in transforming young lives.
