Cong asks cadre to submit report on condition at govt hospitals
LUCKNOW: In view of the reports of children’s death from different districts, the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee (UPCC) has launched its second phase of Rajiv Gandhi Swasthya Seva Programme.
Under the initiative, the party will work out a status report on conditions at government hospitals and get the problems of patients resolved.
Under the programme, senior party leaders will visit government hospitals from September 5 to 8 and meet patients and doctors.
The leaders will listen to the problems of the people and make efforts to resolve them. They will also take stock of the conditions at pathological labs and operation theatres.
All the senior leaders have been asked to send a report to the UPCC headquarters and submit memorandums to district authorities.
“As part of the programme, a team of senior party leaders led by UPCC president Raj Babbar visited Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital in Farrukhabad on Tuesday to review the conditions and problems being faced by patients,” Congress MLA Aradhna Mishra said.
Mishra and party MLC Deepak Singh have been asked to oversee the implementation of the programme.
She said party leaders had been asked to send information about staff strength, vacancies, and availability of medicines. “They have been directed to ensure that they remain polite and do not enter emergency wards as it may cause problems to patients,” Mishra said.
She said the first phase of the programme launched on the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi had received encouraging results. “The UPCC proposes to compile the findings of party leaders and submit a report to the governor,” said Mishra.
