Strive to improve train punctuality in NCR zone: GM
ALLAHABAD: A meeting on safety related issues was held at North Central Railway (NCR) headquarters on Wednesday. General manager, NCR MC Chauhan presided over the meeting where he stressed on the need to improve train punctuality in the zone.
He outlined the importance of effective and detailed field inspections for which officers must be in touch with ground level workers like gangmen/ trackmen, fitters, porters among others.
The general manger instructed divisional railway managers (DRMs) of all three divisions to maintain constant vigil and improve factors affecting punctuality. He also laid emphasis on controlling ‘cattle run over and alarm chain pulling cases’ by taking stringent action against offenders.
While discussing the safety aspects, Chauhan asked for a continuous safety drive among crew about Signal Passing at Danger (SPAD) cases and urged them to make 2017 a SPAD-free year for NCR. He outlined the need to take strict action against the defaulters in case of breach of block rules.
While discussing the progress of construction of ROBs/RUBs, Chauhan said the respective level crossings should be closed at the earliest after the completion of ROB/RUB.
During the discussion about hot axle cases, he reviewed the performance of hot axle detector installed at Chunar and instructed to procure more such detectors to improve detection of cases. He also instructed for the provision of 100% retro-reflective caution boards in all sections.
