LONDON: Jason Holder would welcome Chris Gayle and Darren Bravo back into the West Indies Test team with open arms, but is not expecting other star names to flood back.

The West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) recently relaxed restrictions on selecting players who prioritised playing in foreign Twenty20 leagues over the domestic four-day competition.

“Chris has probably hinted that he would like to play if he’s fit enough. He’s always said he would like to play. I spoke to him a while back. We would love to have a guy like Chris in our side. He brings a lot. “But apart from those two players I don’t think there’s anybody else we can really look to.”

ARJUN TENDULKAR IN U-19 TEAM

MUMBAI: Arjun Tendulkar, son of legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, was named in the Mumbai Under-19 squad for the upcoming JY Lele India Under-19 Invitational One-Day Tournament, in Baroda.

Arjun, a left-arm fast bowler unlike his father, is also a handy batsman but he is known more for his bowling skills. He has represented Mumbai at the U-14 and U-16 levels earlier.

SL SET TO RETURN TO LAHORE NEXT MONTH

COLOMBO: Sri Lanka will return to Lahore for a Twenty20 international at the end of October, eight years after gunmen attacked a bus carrying its players in the Pakistan city. Apart from a short visit by Zimbabwe in 2015, Pakistan has been starved of international cricket since the 2009 attack in which six security staff and two civilians were killed and six of Sri Lanka’s players were wounded.
