PREZ TO VISIT LKO, KANPUR ON SEPT 14, 15
LUCKNOW: President of India Ramnath Kovind will visit Lucknow on September 14 and his hometown Kanpur the next day. In Kanpur, he will launch the national cleanliness drive, Swachchta Hi Sewa, from the Ishwariganj area. This will be Kovind’s maiden visit to UP after his swearing in as president. He is also expected to visit his house in Indira Nagar locality and his paternal home in Kanpur Dehat.
LUCKNOW: President of India Ramnath Kovind will visit Lucknow on September 14 and his hometown Kanpur the next day.
In Kanpur, he will launch the national cleanliness drive, Swachchta Hi Sewa, from the Ishwariganj area.
This will be Kovind’s maiden visit to UP after his swearing in as president. He is also expected to visit his house in Indira Nagar locality and his paternal home in Kanpur Dehat. As per the initial schedule with the Lucknow district administration, the President will reach the state capital on September 14.
Lucknow district magistrate Kaushal Raj Sharma said: “The President will move directly from the airport to the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan to take part in a felicitation programme on his first visit.” After attending the event, the President is scheduled to stay at Raj Bhavan.
He will leave for Kanpur by air on September 15 morning to take part in the cleanliness drive. Kovind is expected to return to Delhi the same day. The DM said the details of his visit to Lucknow and Kanpur will be finalised at a security meeting scheduled on Tuesday.
CHIEF MINISTER MEETS KOVIND, MODI
Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday met President Ram Nath Kovind and PM Narendra Modi here. During his day-long stay, Adityanath also called on Union finance minister Arun Jaitley. There was no official word on the meetings. A state government official, however, described them as courtesy calls.
