LUCKNOW: A miscreant looted ₹10.20 lakh cash from a man at gunpoint outside the HDFC Bank in Aliganj here on Monday morning.

His accomplice was waiting outside the bank on a motorcycle and he fled with him in no time.

The incident once again proved that miscreants give two hoots to the city police.

According to reports, Krishna Jeevan Rastogi and his son Sachin Rastogi, proprietors of the OM Agencies, Mahanagar, reached the HDFC Bank, near Nehru Vatika in Aliganj, at around 10.15 am. Krishna Jeevan was driving the SUV which had a bag with ₹7 lakh cash.

Also, Vijay Shankar Dwivedi, incharge of Jeevan’s go-down, followed him in another car carrying ₹10.20 lakh. Sushil Kumar Shukla was driving his car.

Jeevan and his son reached the bank and went straight inside the building. Dwivedi reached after him and got down from the car along with the driver. The driver was few steps ahead of Dwivedi.

As they were about to enter the bank, an armed miscreant, wearing a helmet, brandished pistol at Dwivedi.

At gunpoint, the miscreant snatched the cash from Dwivedi and pushed him. He lost balance and fell down.

Dwivedi got up and chased the miscreant with Shukla. However, another miscreant was waiting outside the bank on a motorcycle with its engine on. Brandishing firearm, the miscreant fled on the motorcycle.

The CCTV camera installed at the bank’s entrance has captured the incident.

Dwivedi is a trusted employee of the OM Agencies and has been working with them for past 17 years.

Driver Shukla has been working with the OM Agencies for past five years.

“Generally, it was Vijay Shankar Dwivedi who used to deposit the cash,” said Sachin Rastogi.
