Woman found dead at home, husband hanging from tree

LUCKNOW: A woman was found dead in her house in Itaunja area here on Monday morning while her husband’s body was found hanging from a tree, around 300 meters away from the house.

The deceased were identified as Govind, 25, and his wife Renu, 22, both native of Lalpur village under Itaunja police station.

The couple got married around three years ago and is survived by an 18-months-old daughter.

Renu’s family members alleged that she was murdered for dowry and lodged a case against her mother-in-law, brother-inlaw and sister-in-law.

On Monday morning, villagers spotted a body hanging from a tree.

After identifyin­g that the deceased was Govind, villagers rushed to his house to inform his family members.

However, after reaching his home, villagers were shocked to see Renu’s body lying on the bed.

On being informed, the cops from the Itaunja police station reached the spot and sent the bodies for post-mortem examinatio­n.

Additional superinten­dent of police (Rural) Satish Kumar informed that prime-facie it appeared that the husband committing suicide after killing his wife.

However, further probe would be carried out once autopsy was done and the cause of both the deaths was clear, Kumar added.
