LUCKNOW : A senior IAS officer from another state cadre will soon be nominated to the screening committee that will consider cases of IAS officers in the 50 year plus age group for compulsory retirement.

As cases of most of the UP cadre IAS officers were reviewed at a meeting of the screening committee in 2015, not many cases are likely to come up for screening now. But when it comes to other officials and employees, the state government’s separate screening committees have been meeting and recommending names for compulsory retirement.

Chief secretary Rajive Kumar will head the screening committee for IAS officers that may hold its meeting soon after nomination of an out of state cadre IAS officer as its member.

“Yes, the state government will soon nominate an IAS officer of another state cadre to the screening committee. The cases of IAS officers considered by screening committee in 2015 cannot be referred to it again in 2017. So, the committee may not have many cases for the screening committee,” said a senior officer.

The screening committee has already considered cases of PCS officers. “The recommendations about compulsory retirement are being processed,” said the officer, adding three months’ salary was being paid to the employees/officers being shortlisted for compulsory retirement on recommendation of the screening committees.

Last month, the Yogi Adityanath government terminated services of 10 officers of 50 year plus age group of the state consolidation department for inefficiency or indulging in corruption.

The screening committee of consolidation department at its meeting held on August 14 recommended compulsory retirement of seven officers and dismissal of three officers. In addition, penal action has been taken against two other officers of the department.
