Phonemaker­s have been trying to make smartphone­s smarter, especially for work where getting things done faster is the key. Offering bigger display, advanced security features, powerful hardware, physical keyboard and stylus are some of the elements which are targeted at profession­als on the move who rely on their smartphone for a lot of work related tasks.

Here are some of the smartphone­s which can help users deliver at work even if they are not at their workstatio­n or have access to a laptop.

BLACKBERRY KEYONE

₹ 39,990 BlackBerry’s latest smartphone KeyOne comes with their trademark feature, the Qwerty keyboard, which has been adapted for modern users. It is touch-sensitive, so if you are browsing a web page, you can swipe up and down over the keyboard to scroll through the page. The keys are big and really comfortabl­e to type. The 4.5-icnh display with resolution of 1,620x1,080p is crisp and big enough for reading mails and messages. The smartphone runs on Qualcomm’s mid-range Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor with 4GB RAM. It runs Android 7.1 and offers hardware level encryption, BlackBerry’s DTEK security suite and BlackBerry’s email management app Hub.

SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE 8

$929 (Approx ₹59,468) Samsung’s Galaxy Note 8 is bigger and grander and more powerful than any of the earlier phones. It packs in some very unique features such as the 6.3-inch Infinity display which offers a unique resolution of 2,960x1,440p and aspect ratio of 18:9 and looks more immersive due to the thin bezels. It is one of the most compact 6-inch and above smartphone right now. It is 162mm tall, 74.8mm wide and weighs just 195g. It has water and dust proof exterior. The feature which makes it stand out is the stylus called S-Pen. It comes with a thinner tip, more touch points and can be great tool for drawing, designing, taking notes, annotating documents on the smartphone.

XIAOMI MI MAX 2

₹16,999 Xiaomi Mi Max 2 is an affordable big screen smartphone with a massive 6.4-inch Full HD (1,920x1,080p) display. It has a lot going for it than just the display. The metal exterior and sleek form factor (7.6mm) give it the air of premium smartphone. It packs in a 5,300mAh battery and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor, has 4GB RAM and offers 64GB internal storage expandable to another 128GB via microSD card. The smartphone runs Android 7.0 with MIUI on top which offers a number of useful features such as dual versions of same app, reading mode and two profiles on the same phone.

ONEPLUS 5

₹32,999 onwards For users who looking for a smartphone which can handle the load of more complex enterprise apps, the smartphone should have the top notch hardware. The OnePlus 5 is a power house when it comes to performanc­e. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor with up to 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. It runs Android 7.1 (Nougat) with plain Android interface and is expected to get the Oreo update. It comes with a big 5.5-inch display which provides ample legroom for typing, editing and running HD videos. Despite the big screen and metal body it is light and weighs just 153g.
