The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA), on Tuesday, sealed many under construction houses that were being constructed in gross violation of the approved maps.

The LDA’s enforcement wing sealed four under construction houses in Aliganj area and four houses in Indira Nagar.

The LDA also served notices to owners of these houses as they were being constructed in violation of building norms and map approved by the development authority.

On Tuesday, the development authority has also sealed many illegal commercial complexes in several parts of the city, including Patrakarpuram area in Gomti Nagar.

The LDA has launched a drive to demolish or seal the illegal structures in the city. During the ongoing drive, the development authority has demolished many illegal structures despite stiff opposition.

The development authority has already demolished the illegal building of former minister in the Samajwadi Party government, Sharda Pratap Shukla, in Bangla Bazar area and got the land freed from his illegal possession.

To make the city free from illegal structures and check rampant commercial activity from residential plots, the development authority has already rolled back the decision taken during the Samajwadi government to allow change in land use from residential to commercial for 71 influential people.

After the Yogi government came to power in the state, the LDA launched a drive against such illegal structures.
