Lucknow Metro receives 7th set of coaches at Transport Nagar depot
LUCKNOW: The Lucknow Metro received its seventh set of train coaches at its Transport Nagar depot on Wednesday. The coaches are manufactured by Alstom Transport at their manufacturing plant in Sri City (Andhra Pradesh).
The coaches were transported in special trailers by road. This set of Metro train was dispatched from Sri City for Lucknow on August 31. Each coach (car) is loaded on a special trailer having 64 wheels. A 180tonne crane is used to unload 40-tonne car using a special spreader.
The train is better than the previous ones because all the shortcomings of previous trains were communicated to the company and engineers have already removed those faults from the train.
The necessary trials of this train have already been conducted at the manufacturing plant. Other dynamic trials will now be done in the Transport Nagar Metro Depot within the next 15 days.
