Five panels to submit reports to med edu dept
LUCKNOW:The medical education department has constituted five committees to submit reports on strengthening health facilities in medical college hospitals.
In a press release, medical education minister Ashutosh Tandon said after the death of children at Gorakhpur’s BRD Medical College hospital, a high level committee headed by the chief secretary had recommended upgrading health facilities. In view of recommendations of the chief secretary’s committee, the medical education department decided to constitute the five committees headed by experts who will visit the state-run medical colleges and submit their report.
The first committee headed by Abbas Ali Mehdi, head of biochemistry department at King George’s Medical University, will submit its report on filling vacant posts in medical colleges.
The committee headed by director general, medical education, KK Gupta will submit a report on the compulsory bond signed by government doctors who take admission in PG courses. The third committee headed by medical superintendent, SGPGI, Hem Chandra will submit a report on creating an administrative cadre.
The fourth committee headed by Dr Mala Kumar, professor in the department of paediatrics, KGMU will submit a report on implementation of standard protocol and infection prevention protocol in the neonatal care unit, neonatal intensive care unit and paediatrics ICUs. The fifth committee headed by Dr AK Verma, head of forensic medicine at KGMU, will submit a report on the death audit of children.
