Cops on alert at IndoNepal border for Honeypreet

GORAKHPUR: Security agencies have been put on high alert on Indo-Nepal border at Sonauli, Maharajganj after reports of Honeypreet Singh trying to escape to the neighbouring country surfaced.

Honeypreet is the adopted daughter of Haryana’s controversial godman Gurmeet Singh alias Ram Rahim who was jailed for raping two women. A lookout notice was issued by Haryana police against Honeypreet on September 1 who is trying to evade arrest.

Posters of Honeypreet with a public appeal to inform the police if they see the accused, have been put up on walls, streets and police station on the border.

“Nepal border starts from Sonauli. As such all police stations have been directed to ensure Honeypreet does not escape to Nepal. All SSB chowkis have also been alerted and asked to tighten vigil on the border,” SP Maharajganj RP Singh said.
