Modi to hold di­a­logue with 700 Mus­lim, other mi­nor­ity women

VARANASI:Prime Min­is­ter Naren­dra Modi will hold a di­a­logue with 700 women of Mus­lim and other mi­nor­ity com­mu­ni­ties at the Diesel Lo­co­mo­tive Works (DLW) au­di­to­rium dur­ing his pro­posed visit to Varanasi on Septem­ber 22.

The district mi­nor­ity wel­fare depart­ment will hold a meet­ing with madarasa of­fi­cials on Septem­ber 18 to pre­pare for the event.

A rep­re­sen­ta­tive each from aided and non-aided madarsas has been asked to at­tend the meet­ing.

District so­cial wel­fare of­fi­cer Ra­jesh Ku­mar Ya­dav, who holds ad­di­tional charge of the district mi­nor­ity wel­fare of­fi­cer, has con­firmed the de­vel­op­ment.

He said all the Mus­lim women will be from Varanasi. A spe­cial iden­tity card each will be is­sued to women to at­tend the di­a­logue ses­sion.

The district mi­nor­ity wel­fare of­fice has is­sued a let­ter to an of­fi­cial and a teacher each from madarasas to at­tend the meet­ing in which mi­nor­ity depart­ment of­fi­cials will pre­pare a list of the women. The group of women will in­clude teach­ers, house­wives, lawyers, com­mon­ers, so­cial ac­tivists and those who have been vo­cal against the prac­tice of triple ta­laque.

The Prime Min­is­ter may seek the opin­ion of Mus­lim women on var­i­ous is­sues at the meet­ing.
