Family members registered protest against the doctors of a private hospital in Madiaon area on Sunday after death of a patient here during treatment.

Family members alleged that the doctors kept the patient’s body in the ICU to escalate the bill while the death had taken place three hours before they declared the 35-year-old man as dead.

The family also called police stating that the kidney of the patient was removed following which the body was sent for a post mortem examination.

In the report, however, the allegation of removal of kidney was found false.

The patient was brought here on September 10 following failure of treatment at a local clinic. The family had deposited over ₹50,000 as fee with the hospital.

Meanwhile, the health department has decided to conduct an inquiry into the case.

Two senior doctors at the office of the chief medical officer of Lucknow will conduct the inquiry and submit their report.

The health team that reached the hospital found that the hospital records were updated and had mandatory registration.

The probe will be conducted upon charges of negligence and that the bill was escalated.
