NOIDA: Four days after Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath’s directions, Noida authority chief executive officer Alok Tandon on Saturday asked the builders to submit a fresh action plan for delivery of flats to homebuyers.

On September 12, the CM, in a meeting held in Lucknow, directed the Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway top officials to deliver 50,000 flats in next two months to buyers. Yogi’s instructions came in response to the long standing demand raised by the homebuyers, who have been suffering for past three to seven years.

Homebuyers have paid almost total flat cost but the builders are failing to finish housing projects on time citing fund crunch amid slowdown in realty market.

Around thirty five housing project owners were present in the meeting that took place in the Noida authority’s administrative officer located sector 6 on Saturday.

Tandon paid individual attention to problems of each builder separately with an aim to resolve issues and pave the way for flat delivery to buyers. The Supertech, Amrapali, Jaypee, Ajnara, Gaursons, Gardenia Glory, Antriksh, Divine Meadows, ABA Corp, Sunworld and Unnati Fortune Group among others were present in the meeting.

“I have asked thirty five builders, who attended the meeting to submit their fresh delivery schedule in next two to three days. Our aim is to help builders to deliver flats. The government wants 50,000 flat deliveries in the next two months. Therefore, I have asked each builder to tell break up of flats in detail that when they will deliver flats and by what time,” said Tandon.

According to the Noida authority survey there are 78,000 flat buyers who are unable to take possession in around 40 housing projects. Ninety four builders are unable to finish and deliver flats because they owe ₹10,290 crore land dues to the Noida authority.

“Since the builders face financial issues the authority has two schemes to help in such cases. One scheme is that a builder can get deliver flat and get execute flat registry by paying land dues per flat wise. The second scheme is that a builder can deposit 10 % of total land dues at one time and then pay remaining dues per flat at the time of execution of a registry,” said Tandon.

The Greater Noida authority chief executive officer Debasish Panda has also directed the builders to complete formalities and finish projects to deliver flats as soon as possible. “I have directed 20 builders on Friday to submit required papers and get occupancy certificate issued so that buyers can get flats,” said Panda.
