Dera chair joins investigation
Dera Sacha Sauda chairperson Vipassana appeared before the police on Monday, putting an end to speculation that she has gone into hiding to avoid arrest.
She reached the HUDA police post here in Sirsa at about 2.40pm, and the special investigation team (SIT) formed by Sirsa police, which is headed by deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Dabwali, Kuldeep Beniwal, started questioning her.
Talking to Hindustan Times, Beniwal revealed that Vipassana told police that the Dera Sacha Sauda chief’s daughter, Honeypreet, visited Sirsa on August 25, soon after Gurmeet Ram Rahim was sent to Sunaria jail in Rohtak.
“Since then, Vipassana did not receive any call from Honeypreet,” he added.
“Vipassana agreed to join the investigation; she visited here today at about 2.40pm and left the police station at 6.20pm. We have asked her to keep her mobile on so that we can call her for further investigation,” Beniwal added.
Vipassana even told the police that she had visited Gursar Modia in Sri Ganganagar district of Rajasthan to hand over important documents to Jasmeet Singh, the sect chief’s son.
Vipassana did not speak to any mediapersons outside the station after her questioning.
