Dhoni takes power nap at Chennai airport
MUMBAI : What do you do when you are forced to bide time at airport lounges, waiting for the announcement to board your flight? You lurk around, catch up with other activities like calling a friend to reading books to even having a coffee.
But if you are MS Dhoni, one of the highest earning sportspersons in the world, you lie down on the floor and just relax. Maybe even take a nap!
Yes. Dhoni decided to take yet another of his famous ‘power naps’, this time at the Chennai airport as the India team waited for the announcement of their flight to Kolkata.
India will play their second ODI of the ongoing five-match series against Australia on September 21.
AT EASE
On Monday, the Indian cricketers were spotted relaxing at the Chennai airport en route Kolkata, and it was Dhoni who was lying down on the floor with his head resting on a small travel bag.
Wearing a white-coloured team tee-shirt and sporting sunglasses, Dhoni was at complete ease surrounded by teammates Virat Kohli, KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya as they enjoyed some time off work.
Dhoni had famously taken a power nap on the field during the Pallekele ODI against Sri Lanka on India’s recent tour.
The senior Indian cricketer, certainly the wisest of them all, decided to utilise time when play was halted for a little over 30 minutes due to the interruption caused by the furious Sri Lankan cricket fans, who had begun throwing water bottles on the field angered by their team’s no-show.
Indifferent to the commotion that was taking place, Dhoni took off his helmet, rested his head on his hands and caught up with some more sleep.
Meanwhile, the Indian team was made to work hard for a win which they registered Sunday at the Chidambaram Stadium.
India won the game by 26 runs via the Duckworth-Lewis Method, as rains had interrupted play for a very long duration after India posted a competitive 281 for seven on board.
