Top golfers to participate in junior tourney

LUCKNOW: Top 50 junior golfers of the country would be seen in action in the four-day Uttar Pradesh Junior Boys Golf Championship, beginning Tuesday, at the Palms Golf Club here.

Big names like Saurav Rathi, Yuvraj Singh, Saarthak Chibber, Sandeep Yadav, Vishav Pratap Singh, Aaryomaan Bose, Mandaar Prashar, Arjun Bhati, Bishmad Pal Singh, Sunhit Bishnoi have confirmed their participation. Sandeep Yadav, who had a win last week at the Panchkula, would star favourite.

HOCKEY TOURNEY

An unique hockey tournament, involving girls, boys and veterans in memory of Shambhunath Kapoor would be organized at the CB Gupt ground here from Wednesday under the auspices of the KD Singh ‘Babu’ Memorial Society.

Society’s release says teams like Girls Hostel, SAI Hostel, SSB, Karamat College, Shanti Foundation, Sunrises Cantt, Lucknow Veterans and under-14 boys have confirmed their participation. The tournament would be played on league-cumknock-out basis.

CONVINCING WIN

Drona Cricket Academy made it to the next round of the 2nd PP Dua Memorial Under-16 Cricket Tournament, defeating Aryavart Cricket Academy by eight wickets, at the Christian College ground here on Monday. After skittling out ACA for paltry 41 in 19.2 overs, DCA romped home in 8.5 overs.

MISHRA CRICKET

Standard Club and NYCC scored wins in the 1st Satyabhama Mishra Memorial Twenty20 Cricket Tournament here on Monday. Standard Club defeated Lucknow White by six wickets, whereas NYCC defeated LCF by three wickets.
