LDA V-C orders transfers of 33 clerks

-

LUCKNOW:Lucknow Development Authority vice-chairman PN Singh ordered inter-departmental transfers of 33 clerks after getting complaints against them.

All these clerks had been discharging responsibilities in important departments like property, rent and trust among others. Now, they have been transferred to less important departments like planning and legal among others.

In the past, no LDA V-C was able to transfer clerks despite complaints pending against them.

“Transfers of clerks were long overdue. They were wielding enormous clout in the development authority,” said an LDA official.

“As these clerks were working in important departments for the past several years, they are facing charges of corruption,” added the official.

To recall, the state government had already carried out transfers of officials in all development authorities across the state. This was aimed at improving working of development authorities and to build-up their clean image.

Of late, several illegal underconstruction buildings had also been sealed by the LDA while some were demolished as part of the initiative to check illegal constructions.

The development authority launched a drive against illegal constructions. In the first phase, the LDA sealed several illegal buildings at Patrakarpuram, Gomti Nagar and also demolished several illegal buildings.
