Acting tough against individuals accused of disturbing peace on the campus, Allahabad University (AU) expelled six student leaders for the next five years. Action has been taken against them also for indiscipline and indulging in violence.

The four of the expelled are of Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad while one is of National Students Union of India (NSUI).

The expelled student leaders include former vice-president of Allahabad University students’ union Vikrant Singh, Niraj Pratap Singh, Vivekanand Pathak, Ankush Yadav, Surya Prakash Mishra and Anand Kumar Singh.

These student leaders were earlier blacklisted and were not allowed entry on the campus in July after which two of them including Vikrant and Niraj had moved Allahabad High Court seeking relief. The High Court had directed the varsity authorities to form an enquiry committee and give a chance to the student leaders to put their stand forth before taking any step.

AU registrar on Monday issued a missive stating that these six were being rusticated from University for 5 years with immediate effect.

However, in case of Ankush Yadav, the report has been sent to the chief rector of AU (ie Governor Ram Naik) with a request to direct VC of Lucknow University for appropriate action as he is a student of MS Social Work for session 2017-18 at LU.

AU proctor Prof Ram Sewak Dubey has been asked to inquire about the other student leaders as to where they are currently studying etc so that the institution concerned can be informed for taking suitable action against these student leaders, says the letter of the registrar, AU.

THE EXPELLED STUDENT LEADERS INCLUDE FORMER VICEPRESIDENT OF AUSU VIKRANT SINGH, NIRAJ PRATAP SINGH, VIVEKANAND PATHAK, ANKUSH YADAV, SURYA PRAKASH MISHRA AND ANAND KUMAR SINGH.
