PATNA: Bihar police have registered a FIR against a Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) legislator for allegedly hurling caste slurs and assaulting a government school headmaster in Rohtas district on Monday.

RJD MLA from Karakat, Sanjay Kumar Singh Yadav, is also accused of threatening 14 other school teachers for their alleged failure to arrange two buses for RJD chief Lalu Prasad’s anti-BJP rally in Patna on August 27.

Yadav has, however, denied all charges.

In his complaint to the police, headmaster in-charge of Ramroop high school, Godari Ramvriksh Paswan, 40, said that Yadav abused and assaulted him after coming to the school with 150 other supporters on Monday. He then allegedly went around the school, entering every classroom and threatening teachers with dire consequences. The MLA was ticked off by the failure of the school to make available two buses for the party rally in Patna on August 27, the complaint said.

Fourteen other school teachers have also levelled similar charges against Yadav in a separate petition to the police.

School headmaster Vikas Maurya was on leave and Paswan was officiating in his absence.

Refuting the charges, Yadav said he visited the school in the capacity of ex-officio president of the school management committee to verify public complaints that the school was charging illegal fees for registration and for issuing school leaving certificates. Yadav said he had also received complaints regarding anomalies in purchase of sports and other items.
