State staff to get 7th pay arrears after Dec

- HT Correspondent letters@hindustantimes.com

The state government employees and pensioners who were scheduled to get their seventh pay commission arrears in October will now get the same ‘after December’.

A decision to this effect was taken at the state cabinet meeting presided over by chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday.

The government has already announced to implement the new pay scale from January 1, 2016, which will cost the government an additional burden of about Rs 20,000 crore per annum.

While the employees are getting revised pay from January 2017, the arrears for 2016 (From January to December ) had to be paid in two financial years (20172018 and 2018-2019).

This has resulted in financial burden of about Rs 30,000 crore (Rs 20,000 crore for increased salaries and Rs 10,000 crore for arrears) for two years.

While senior officers of the finance department remained unavailable for comments, sources said the decision had been taken because of the pressure of additional financial strain on state exchequer caused due to the implementation of an estimated Rs 36,000crore crop loan waiver scheme.

METRO DPR REVISED

The state cabinet also approved the amended detailed project report (DPR) and revised funding pattern for second phase of Metro Rail project in Ghaziabad from Dilshad Garden to New bus station.

The state cabinet approved the DPR revising estimated project cost from Rs 1,770 crore as in 2014 to Rs 2,210 crore. Under the revised funding pattern, the union government would provide Rs 402.40 crore for the project.

The DMRC will give Rs 328.00 crore, GDA Rs 695.80 crore, Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam Rs 246.35 crore, Uttar Pradesh Housing Development Board Rs 440.45 crore and UPSIDC Rs 97 crore.

KARTIK PURNIMA FAIR

The state cabinet approved a proposal to make Kartik Purnima fair at Tigri village of Amroha a state level event. So far the district panchayat Amroha was bearing the cost (Rs 90 lakh) to hold the fair.

Now, the district magistrate Amroha would organise the fair and the state government will bear the cost (Rs 1.29 crore) per annum.

NO CLASS FOUR APPOINTMENTS

The cabinet approved amendment to Uttar Pradesh non-government Arbi evam Farsi Madarsa Manyata Prashashan aur Seva Viniyamavali 2016 (service rules) banning appointment on all class four posts except the technical ones.

Appointments through outsourcing only will be made on posts falling vacant after the decision.
