UP CM lacks aptitude to run government, says Akhilesh
Samajwadi Party national president Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday termed the white paper released by Yogi Adityanath government a ‘bundle of white lies’ and said that the UP CM just did not possess the aptitude to run a government.
“I will not be able to recite ‘mantras’ (hymns) if you ask me to do so. It’s as simple as that,” he said taking a potshot at the UP CM’s background as a priest of a temple.
He said CM Yogi had announced to bring the white paper in a month after forming the government. What took the BJP government six months to finish the job, he wondered. Yadav said that while the BJP government had failed to bring about any development in the past six months, the projects started by his government had been discontinued or shelved.
Addressing a press conference at party headquarters in Lucknow, the former UP CM said the farm loan waiver scheme was the biggest hoax and cheating with the farmers by the BJP government.
“Never in the history of the country, was a farm loan amounting to a few paisa waived by the government,” he said and added that ‘white paper’, highlighting the failure of his (SP) regime, was nothing but a ‘book of lies.’ The farmers, he said, have now understood that the government had played a cruel joke on them.
“This could have been prevented had CM Adityanath cared to check himself the certificates of the meagre loan amount being waived off,” he said.
“Our government distributed 18 lakh laptops free to students without any caste or religious discrimination, built world class expressway and metro in record time. But people did not vote for development. Next time, I would be careful if people vote for us,” he said.
Reacting to UP CM’s remark that he did not know the definition of a ‘farmer’, Akhilesh said “I invite him to visit my village with me and see the trees, which we have planted. I challenge him to tell which tree will bear what fruit,” he quipped.
