ALLAHABAD: In yet another attempt to ensure copying-free examination, the UP Board has sought public help in identifying schools with dubious reputation.

“We have invited objections from public about schools not fit to be made examination centres ,” confirmed Neena Srivastava, secretary, UP Board.

The move is aimed at ensuring smooth conduct of high school and intermediate examinations in 2018. The objections should be submitted in the office of their respective district inspector of schools (DIoS) at the earliest, said another official.

“We are in the process of carrying out physical verification of infrastructure of schools to identify schools fit enough to be made examination centres. Each school has to have minimum prerequisites, including adequate size, number of classrooms, furniture, boundary wall, etc. If it does not have the same, it would not be made a centre in 2018,” said Srivastava, while talking to HT.

Input son schools which in the past had promoted use of unfair means will help us in black listing them, she said while urging anyone and everyone with info on such schools to tip off the office of the respective DIoS.

Earlier, the board had asked principal of all schools to provide details of facilities available in their schools, including number of classrooms, furniture, CCTV cameras, etc.

The physical verification of the same was carried out by DI oS and the final report was uploaded on board’s website www.upmsp.edu.in by September 15.

The board had initiated strict measures to check use of unfair means in its 2017 exams which resulted in decline of its overall pass percentage.

It had made compulsory online registration for Class 9 and Class 11 students to weed out fake registrations, provided coded answersheets in 31 districts identified as sensitive to check copying, cancelled 69 exams of various subjects besides debarring 91 schools from holding exams for next five years due to mass copying.

During the exam, due to strict vigilance, 5,94,503 candidates left the exams midway and 1,862 examine es were caught copying.
