HARASSED DPS STUDENT TRIES TO KILL SELF

KANPUR: A class 11 student of Kalyanpur branch of the Delhi Public School (DPS) attempted suicide by consuming sleeping pills and phenyl on Saturday night allegedly after being harassed by his teachers, police said. Circle officer, Swaroop Nagar, Manoj Kumar Gupta said a case had been registered under Sections 305 and 511 of the IPC against four teachers who would be quizzed on Monday. In a suicide note addressed to his mother, Mohammad Arsh said he was ending his life as he was being harassed by his teachers.

KANPUR: A Class 11 student of Kalyanpur branch of the Delhi Public School (DPS) attempted suicide by consuming sleeping pills and phenyl on Saturday night allegedly after being harassed by his teachers, police said.

Circle officer of Swaroop Nagar, Manoj Kumar Gupta said a case had been registered against four teachers who would be quizzed on Monday.

In a suicide note addressed to his mother, Mohammad Arsh, who lived with his aunt Nasreen Fatima, said he was ending his life as he was being harassed by his teachers. His family lived in Fatehpur, while he was staying with his aunt to pursue his studies. Arsh was admitted to a private nursing home in a critical condition. His father Mohammad Ashraf rushed to Kanpur and lodged a police complaint against all the four teachers named in the suicide note.

“Mainja ar ah ah oona apsabko chhod kar. Yahan main bahut akela ho gaya hoon. Mummy main in school teach aroseyp aresh an hok ar suicide karrah ho on (I am going to end my life. I am feeling lonely here. I am fed up with my teachers and have decided to end my life),” Arsh said in the note addressed to his mother.

Naming four teachers, he said they had level led false allegation­s against him. “Mummy mere jaaney ke baad en teacharon ko chhodna mat (Don’t spare these teachers after I die),” he said.

Re gaining consciousn­ess after six hours, Arsh said, “They even threatened to recommend my expulsion,” he said

His aunt said a teacher of class 10 searched his bag suspecting that he had stolen some goods. “She later said she wanted to see if he had taken her class register. The teacher even asked other students not to talk to Ar sh. He used to sit alone,” she said. Arsh said the teachers did not allow him to attend the classes for three days.

IN A SUICIDE NOTE ADDRESSED TO HIS MOTHER, MOHAMMAD ARSH, WHO LIVED WITH HIS AUNT NASREEN FATIMA, SAID HE WAS ENDING HIS LIFE AS HE WAS BEING HARASSED BY HIS TEACHERS.
