A girl student, on condition of anonymity, said: “Security arrangements at the hostel are insufficient. Often boys enter the hostel premises. In the past, boys even entered the rooms of the girls. They argued with the girls when they asked them to leave the premises.”
“Boys often pass objectionable comments but we ignore them. We don’t want to get into any problem. We are here for studies,” a girl said, adding it would be better, if proper security arrangements were made at the hostel. Six CCTV cameras have been set up at the hostel.

“We have chalked out a plan to enhance security on the campus. So far as International Girls’ Hostel is concerned, some streetlights have been installed. A keeper-cum-guard is already deployed at the hostel who looks after security arrangements. We will further enhance security, if required,” BHU spokesperson Dr Rajesh Singh said.
