INSPECTOR VIMLESH KUMAR SINGH HAS BEEN MADE THE NEW INCHARGE OF HASANGANJ POLICE STATION

LUCKNOW: Senior superintendent of police (SSP) Deepak Kumar transferred the in-charge of Hasanganj police station, inspector Pramod Kumar Jha, on Monday for alleged negligence and delayed response in two separate cases.

The SSP shifted Jha to the crime branch for his alleged negligence and delayed response in the solving the murder case of a taxi driver Mohd Aqeel after his mysterious disappearance and also in the rape attempt with a woman inside an abandoned lying police booth.

He had appointed inspector Vimlesh Kumar Singh as the new in-charge of Hasanganj police station.

A source said that Jha allegedly did not conduct a detailed probe even when Aqeel’s brother Mohd Shakeel raised apprehension of his brother’s murder after his mysterious disappearance on September 23.

Later, when Aqeel’s decomposed body was found in the Hooghly river in Kolkata on October 5, Shakeel approached senior police authorities and complained about Jha’s negligent attitude in probing the matter.

Also, Jha was allegedly reluctant in initiating action against the youth nabbed by the locals for attempting rape with a woman in a police booth in the Daliganj locality and also tried to water down the incident, the source added.
