State govt to recruit 4,493 cops to strengthen UP 100 service
UP 100 APP HAS ALSO BEEN LAUNCHED TO PROVIDE AN EASY MEDIUM OF ACCESSING THE SERVICES
ALLAHABAD: A year after the launch of UP 100 facility, the state government has decided to recruit around 4,493 cops exclusively for this police emergency response service. The cops would be recruited as inspectors, sub inspectors, head constables and constables.
A letter dated October 9 from secretary (home), Bhagwan Swarup to UP DGP, has conveyed government sanction for creation of 4,493 posts of various categories including 18 inspectors (motor transport), 75 sub inspectors (MT), 1400 head constable (driver) and 3,000 constable (driver) for UP 100 service, informed a senior home department official.
The official said that the order makes plain that the inspectors would be recruited against payscale of 44900-138300, sub inspectors against pay-scale of 35400109100, head constables against pay-scale of 25500-78700 and constable against pay-scale of 2170067100. UP 100 is the official name of Uttar Pradesh Police Emergency Management System which was launched by former chief minister Akhilesh Yadav on November 20, 2016.
According to the official plan, GPS-fitted 3,200 four-wheelers and 1,600 bikes will be used for this service. The four-wheelers have already been put to service in various districts across the state.
UP 100 App has also been launched to provide an easy medium of accessing the services. One may register ‘my emergency contacts’, which will be notified in case of an emergency. When one registers ‘my locations’, it assists the police to reach the location quickly in case of an emergency and ‘my languages’ help cops communicate with you in the language of your choice.
The users can also upload pictures or videos relating to incidents, which will be tagged with their emergency request and will assist local police station to act on them as evidence. This app has been developed by Integrated Technology Enabled Citizen Centric Services (ITECCS) cell of UP police.
