UGC audit team to visit BBAU; students, teachers told to speak freely
LUCKNOW: An expert committee constituted by the University Grants Commission (UGC) will conduct the academic, research, financial and infrastructural audit of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (BBAU) during its three-day visit beginning October 14.
The audit team will meet teachers and students separately. The visit assumes significance in the light of the fact that a BBAU teacher and his associate staff was recently arrested by anti corruption wing of the CBI for taking bribe. The faculty may express themselves freely on any issue pertaining to the functioning of BBAU, including the positives and deficiencies.
The visiting team will also meet students and technical/ administrative staff who wishes to speak on any issue pertaining to the university.
The same evening the team will meet vice-chancellor RC Sobti, registrar Sunita Chandra and members of academic council for an hour during which the response of the university will be elicited on the issues highlighted. The committee will also do scrutiny of relevant documents.
On day two, the visiting team will assess the facilities at classrooms, laboratories, libraries, canteen, sports facilities, conference room, auditorium, etc.
There will be meeting with the committees, individuals and groups. The interested teachers may give their name to the nodal officer, Prof RP Singh, non teaching employees to the registrar and students to dean student welfare to coordinate the visit and appointment.
On the final day, the committee will only examine records, scrutiny of relevant document before finalising the report.
