Akhilesh accuses BJP of taking credit for SP govt’s work
LUCKNOW: Samajwadi Party national president Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday accused the Yogi Adityanath government of taking credit for work done during his regime.
To buttress his claim, Akhilesh tweeted a picture in which a plaque bearing his name on a multi-activity centre built by him in Ayodhya was being chiselled out from the wall under the supervision of a man wearing a saffron kurta.“BJP men dismantling the work done by ‘samajwadis’ (socialists) as part of the preparation to re-launch it,” Akhilesh tweeted.
Earlier, while paying tribute to socialist icon Jayaprakash Narayan at a convention centre built in his memory, Akhilesh praised his father Mulayam Singh Yadav.
“My father’s criticism has helped me in correcting my mistakes and overcome my shortcomings. I think it has made me a better person. Constructive criticism makes you better. Any father, who hides the faults of his children, prepares the ground for their failure,” he said.
The SP chief, however, refused to elaborate further. “The socialist movement was built and strengthened by my father. It is our responsibility to take it to the next level,” he said, adding it was the only way forward for youths and farmers.
“You feel good when you walk on the track developed by yourself,” Akhilesh tweeted later in the day again with a picture of him taking a stroll down the cobbled pathways along the Gomti riverfront.
