₹6 lakh stolen from rural bank in Chhattisga­rh

RAIGARH: Unidentifi­ed burglars stole about ₹6 lakh from a branch of the Chhattisga­rh Rajya Gramin Bank in Raigarh district, police said on Wednesday. The burglars entered the bank late on Tuesday night from the rear by breaking door locks and decamped with ₹5,95,161 in cash kept in a locker, Dharamjaig­arh Sub-Divisional Officer of Police (SDOP) Neha Verma said. The burglars used a gas cutter to open the locker. The crime was detected when the bank opened at 10am, she said.
