HC issues notices to TN govt, Wakf Board

CHENNAI: The Madras high court on Wednesday issued notice to the state government and Tamil Nadu Wakf Board on a plea for quashing a government order nominating A Tamilmahan Husaain as member of the board. Justice K Ravichandra Baabu, before whom the petition was filed by AK Rafi Baig of Chennai, directed the respondents to file their reply in three weeks. The petitioner sought quashing of the government order appointing A Tamilmahan Husaain as a member of Tamil Nadu Wakf Board.
