Ensure proper road construction on city’s outskirts, officials told
LUCKNOW: Municipal commissioner Udairaj Singh met union home minister Rajnath Singh at his residence on Sunday and gave a detailed account of development works carried out by the Lucknow Municipal Corporation.
The minister had called officials for a meeting to review development work in the city.
Rajnath Singh directed the municipal commissioner to ensure proper road construction on the city’s outskirts, especially in the areas that were included in the LMC’s limits recently.
He directed the municipal commissioner to arrange money from the revolving funds to ensure proper roads, drains, manholes and water supply in the city. He also directed the municipal commissioner to ensure street lights during the festive season.
Prior to that, the home minister had also summoned senior officials of the Railways and the NHAI.
NHAI officials were directed to complete the construction of the 94-km outer ring road before March 2019.
Rajnath Singh said no delay would be tolerated in the work and if there is any hindrance, then it should be reported to him.
He said two railway overbridges were to be constructed on the outer ring road and to avoid delay in work, the drawings should be sent to the DRM Northern Railways for approval.
