Admn holds rehearsal for ‘Divya Deepotsav’ in Ayodhya

AYODHYA: The district administra­tion arranged for a grand rehea rsal of Divya Deepotsav in Ayodhya amidst tight security on Monday.

The rehearsal took place at three different places and times. In the morning, a team of local saints took part in heritage walk that started from Kanchan Mahal and concluded at Nageshwar Nath temple at Naya Ghat in one and a half hours.

In the second phase, rehearsal of a procession started from Saket PG College and concluded at Ram Katha Park at 4.05pm. . A number of horse riders led the procession with half a dozen tableaux where artistes dressed as Lord Rama and Goddess Sita participat­ed. School students, all dressed up for the occasion, also participat­ed in the rehearsal. Volunteers posing as the chief minister and the governor received tableaux at Ram Katha Park.

In the third and the last phase, 2,500 students from university and colleges arranged earthen lamps on the stairs of Ram ki paidi ghat. The event manager Nischal Barun from Gujarat and Ashish Mishra from Avadh University coordinate­d the students in presence of vice chancellor of Avadh University Prof Manoj Dixit and district tourism officer BP Singh.

Earthen diyas were also arranged simultaneo­usly at Saryu Ghat and Ram Katha Park. At Saryu Ghat arrangemen­t was also made for Saryu Arati. Around 40,000 diyas will also be lit on the D-day, other than 2 lakhs for the world record at Ram ki Paidi.
