SP national body announced, no Shivpal
LUCKNOW: As a followup to the national convention in Agra, the Samajwadi Party national president Akhilesh Yadav announced on Monday the national executive of the party.
Interestingly, Akhilesh’s uncle and party MLA Shivpal Yadav did not find a place in the executive. Party sources, however, said Shivpal Yadav might be inducted into the executive later.
During the national convention in Agra that was held on October 5, both Mulayam and Shivpal Yadav had congratulated Akhilesh on becoming the national president and since then it was speculated that Akhilesh might appoint Shivpal in the national executive to give Shivpal an honourable place in the party.
Mulayam Singh Yadav, who is the chief patron of the party, automatically stays in the executive by virtue of his being the leader of the parliamentary group of the party in Parliament.
According the list released by chief national general secretary Ramgopal Yadav, Akhilesh Yadav is the national president, Kiranmoy Nanda, national vice president and Ramgopal himself chief national general secretary. Azam Khan is national general secretary along with nine others while Sanjay Seth is the treasurer.
Apart from these, there are thirty-five members and six special invitee members in the executive.
