Want to buy flats? Just visit LDA office
LUCKNOW: The Lucknow Development Authority is all set to offer 1472 flats on first come first serve basis from next month.
The development authority took this decision when its initiative for online registration of properties did not evoke much response from prospective buyers last month.
In June, the LDA had mooted the proposal to dispose of its unsold properties on first come first serve basis. The proposal has now materialised and the development authority is all set to roll it out for customers.
From November 1, the LDA would operate a special counter at its Gomti Nagar office offering flats on first come first serve basis. The re are 1472 flats, ranging from ₹12 lakh to ₹80 lakh lying undisposed at its various housing schemes.
The development authority has made available all information about vacant flats on its website www.ldaonline.in.
Rajesh Kumar Shukla, officer on special duty, LDA, confirmed that the development authority had decided to offer its flats on first come first serve basis. “From November 1, a special counter will be made operational at the LDA office for customers,” Shukla said.
“To make the scheme more attractive, the development authority has also decided to empower buyers with the freedom to even select flats of their choice and the floor on which they want it,” Shukla added.
According to LDA officials, this scheme became a necessity after the number of flats lying unsold outnumbered prospective buyers.

authority has decided to go in for this initiative to dispose of its unsold properties,” said an LDA officer.
Vice chairman of LDA, Prabhu Narain Singh, has issued directives to officials concerned to upload list of all unsold flats of the development authority schemewise for the convenience of buyers. Before the development authority, the Awas Vikas Parishad (Housing development board) has successfully implemented the first-come first-serve scheme.
The Board had uploaded list of all its high-value unsold flats on its website. With this innovate technique the Board was able to book 800 flats in just three days.
The LDA VC pointed out that in a scenario when the development authority had more unsold flats than prospective buyers the lottery system for allotment of flats becomes redundant.
“The LDA will have to market its flats in a better way to attract buyers. In the last financial year, the LDA was not able to earn even ₹100 crore from sale of its commercial properties,” said an LDA officer.
LDA’s new scheme has opened doors for people desperately looking for a –budget-house in the state capital.
