LUCKNOW: Tension prevailed in Nishatganj area here after two brothers of a local BJP leader were attacked by a group of local goons in a dispute over parking of vehicles on road late on Saturday night.

The duo was seriously injured in the attack.

Heavy police force was deployed in the locality on Sunday to avert any further clash as tension brewed between two communities in the area.

The three accused brothers, Asif, Shaqib and Tariq of Ghosiyana, were arrested after an FIR of attempt to murder was registered against them and their unidentified aides at the Mahanagar police station.

The three brothers are sons of a jailed criminal, Azam Ghoshi and operate a second hand twowheelers market by parking the vehicles on the road.

Their father is serving life term for murder and dacoity case since 2004, but they still had a strong hold in the area.

The incident happened with the two brothers, Saurabh and Vaibhav, of vice-president of BJP Yuva Morcha’s city unit, Gaurav Srivastava.

The duo was returning to their home near Karamat market at around midnight when they had a verbal duel with the three accused brothers as they had parked their two-wheelers haphazardly that had blocked the road.

Inspector of Mahanagar police station, Vikas Pandey, said the three brothers called their supporters from a near-by Ghoshiana locality after Saurabh and Vaibhav opposed them to park the two wheelers on the road.

Pandey said the three brothers and their aides attacked Saurabh and Vaibhav with rods and canes.

It all happened on the road but locals did not step out of their house to help the duo as they feared the attackers, he added.

He said a platoon of Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) was deployed in the locality to avert any further trouble in the area.

The three accused brothers had been sent to jail after they were produced before a local court while raids were on to nab other people involved in the attacking the two brothers, the inspector added.
