LESA to be divided into 2 admn units
LUCKNOW: The Lucknow Electricity Supply Administration (LESA) will soon be divided into administrative units.
From next month, LESA will have two chief engineers and its 26 divisions will be divided into two zones – trans-Gomti and cisGomti.
Trans-Gomti will have 10 divisions while cis-Gomti will have 16.
Managing director, Madhyanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam, AP Singh has given approval to the division of Lucknow power supply into two chief engineering zones.
Superintendent engineer, Mahanagar area, Satish Chandra Singh will be the new chief engineer of cis-Gomti while LESA GM Ashutosh Srivastava will continue as the chief engineer of trans-Gomti area.
The decision is expected to improve power supply in Lucknow as management of smaller units is much easier.
“Chief engineers will be able to manage the city better when it comes to power supply and revenue collection. They will keep a watch on administrative issues in a professional manner,” said Singh.
The Lucknow Electricity Supply Administration has over 9 lakh consumers and managing a big consumer base has been a challenge.
The two GMs are also expected to have new office address. The present office near Butler Palace Colony will be shifted to Aishbagh for LESA cis-Gomti while the trans-Gomti office is likely to be in Gomti Nagar.
Bifurcation of LESA is expected to bring in professionalism in power supply, reduce the number of power cuts and improve coordination between field staff and top officials.
With lesser area under the belt, the chief engineer will be able to analyse the performance of all sub-stations in a better manner.
